Located in the Gangwon-do Province on the ridge of Mt Balwangsan, 215km to the east of the capital, Yongpyong boasts 4,300 skiable acres. In 1998 the World Cup Ski Competition and in 1999 the Gangwon Winter Asian Games were successfully held in this glorious alpine wonderland.
