Wildlife and waterfalls
Enclosed between two rivers – the Zambezi River to the north and the Limpopo River to the south – Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Catch a glimpse of the falls from a distance via a scenic flight, or get almost too close for comfort by taking an adrenalin inducing raft ride.
As mesmerising as the falls are Zimbabwe's huge variety of wildlife parks. Many tours include a visit to the best of the bunch, including the largest game park in Zimbabwe, Hwange National Park. Courageous travellers can take a guided wildlife walk for a chance to spot some native animals up close, or watch the wildlife world go by from the safety of a jeep.
People of the land
A visit to Zimbabwe isn't just about the country's wildlife. Capital Harare and the country's second city, Bulawayo, are two places where you'll see a very different side of Zimbabwe. This set of surprisingly safe and friendly cities offer the chance to take a tour to uncover the many surprises on offer including craft markets, galleries and museums.
Alternatively, tours are available to many of the local townships, departing from Victoria Falls. Offering a glimpse into everyday life and culture of Zimbabwe, these villages provide the chance to meet the local Ndebele people and receive an introductory talk from the village's local headman.
