The Whitsundays is made up of 74 islands found off the coast of tropical North Queensland. This region is home to some of Australia's most beautiful beaches and is a popular tourist spot for those wanting to snorkel the Great Barrier Reef. Islands that are a part of the Whitsundays include Hamilton, Whitsunday, Daydream and Hayman, amongst others.

Whitsunday cruises will disembark at a range of locations including Airlie Beach, Hamilton Island and Daydream Island to name a few.

Sights to See

The Whitsundays has a number of breathtaking sights to admire including beautiful beaches, colourful reefs and spectacular sunsets. While in this region, be sure to take a trip to explore the famous Great Barrier Reef. Elsewhere in the Whitsundays, Daydream Island has a range of lagoon style pools and an amazing outdoor aquarium that is home to a range of fish and coral. While a cruise will keep you close to the action, you can soar above Hamilton Island and enjoy a bird's eye view of the Whitsundays on a helicopter tour.

What's for Lunch

Most resort restaurants are open to the public in the Whitsundays and usually boast a fresh selection of seafood and relaxing ocean views. On Hamilton Island, you can choose from a range of fine dining, family friendly and alfresco restaurants. The Marina Tavern is a popular place to grab a cocktail and snack over a bowl of chips while enjoying the views of the bustling marina.

If you see only one thing...

The white silky sand and turquoise waters of Whitehaven beach have to be seen to be believed.
