Here you can try delightfully fresh produce – from paddock to plate – in the town's restaurants and cafes. Ramblers will enjoy wandering uncrowded beaches and headlands or the beautiful Tasmanian Aboretum, which is 10 kilometres from town, and has 66 hectares of trees from around the world.
You can also find history and handmade goods here and the Devonport Regional Art Gallery has a host of kids' activities. If you really want to get away to the wilderness, it's a 1-hour-20-minute drive to Cradle Mountain National Park.
