Cabin Classes

Economy

Economy Class cabins contain seats with pitches ranging from 31 to 34 inches (depending on the aircraft) and 126 degrees of recline. The in-flight menu includes a choice of continental or Indian cuisine and complimentary liquors and wines. Cabins are fitted with shared television screens.

Executive

Executive Class cabins contain seats with pitches ranging from 47 to 76 inches and 127 to 180 degrees of recline, depending on the aircraft. Passengers on international flights are provided with amenity kits. The in-flight menu includes gourmet entrées accompanied by wine or champagne, main meals, desserts, fruit and snacks. Audio/video on demand entertainment systems are slowly being introduced to Executive cabins.

First

First Class cabins contain fully reclining sleeper seats with a pitch ranging from 80 to 82 inches. On board passengers have a choice of three menus, as well as cocktails, vintage wine and champagne. Personal entertainment appliances featuring a range of movies and music are currently available onboard, however audio/video on demand entertainment systems are slowly being introduced to First Class cabins.

Baggage

Economy passengers are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage, 2 pieces of 23kg (each) checked baggage when flying to the US and Canada, and 1 piece of 20kg (each) for all other destinations. Executive Class passengers are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage, 2 pieces of 32kg (each) checked baggage when flying to the US and Canada, and 1 piece of 30kg (each) for all other destinations. First Class passengers are allowed 1 piece of hand luggage, 2 pieces of 32kg (each) checked baggage when flying to the US and Canada, and 1 piece of 40kg (each) for all other destinations.

Check-in Options

Air India offers web check-in from 36 hours to 4 hours before departure time. Passengers flying Economy can check-in up until 3 hours before the departure time. First and Executive Class passengers can check in up until 2 hours before the departure time.

Rewards Program

Flying Returns rewards program allows members to earn points when they fly with Air India or other selected airlines. Accumulated points can be used to purchase flights with Air India or with one of their partners, including Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa.

Lounges

Air India has a lounge located at four of India's airports as well as at London Heathrow Airport and John F. Kennedy International. Lounges are available to First Class and Business Class passengers.
